EcoFlow unveils 5000 range for residential storage at Intersolar

EcoFlow presented its new residential, commercial and industrial (C&I), and plug-in storage products at Intersolar, according to pv magazine. The company’s EcoFlow 5000 range includes low-temperature charging activation at below 10 C, an IP65 ingress protection rating, and noise levels that should not exceed 30 dB, per the manufacturer.

For the C&I segment, EcoFlow launched “Alps,” a battery storage product that serves as the first in its new A Series product range. No pricing, capacity figures, or availability dates for the Alps or the 5000 series were provided in the source.

Base Power raises $1 billion, launches 39.2 kWh home battery

Base Power has launched a 39.2 kWh US-made home battery, as reported by Energy Storage. The product launch follows a year of operational growth for the company, which has expanded its deployed battery fleet to more than 500 megawatt-hours, entered the Illinois market after launching in Texas, and established utility partnerships with El Paso Electric, Austin Energy, and CoServ that collectively represent more than 200 megawatts of capacity, according to citybiz.

The company raised $1 billion, per citybiz. The reports do not specify the battery’s chemistry, price, or whether the 39.2 kWh figure refers to usable or total capacity.

Other battery announcements: solid-state and sodium

Two other battery developments were announced in the period covered by the sources, though neither is a home storage product.

Karma Automotive and Factorial announced the first solid-state battery production program in the U.S. for passenger vehicles, according to Business Wire. The program targets the automotive sector, not stationary home storage.

CATL unveiled its Tener Sodium energy storage system at a product event, per CnEVPost. The system has a rated capacity of more than 30 MWh and uses a fully modular design, with each module weighing 42 tons. This is a grid-scale product, not a residential unit.

Gotion High-Tech is preparing Africa’s first battery gigafactory in Morocco, a 10 GWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) plant for EV and stationary storage applications, with plans to expand to 100 GWh, according to Energy Storage. This is a manufacturing development with no direct residential product details.
