Chinese manufacturer Felicity Solar is expanding its presence in Brazil’s residential energy storage market, focusing on high-voltage systems that combine hybrid inverters with lithium batteries. The company presented its line-up during Intersolar South America 2026, held in São Paulo.
According to Felicity Solar’s Brazil regional director, Tiepeng Pan, the equipment is aimed at self-consumption applications and backup power during grid outages.
“At this edition of the fair we mainly presented our complete high-voltage residential storage system solutions, which include hybrid inverters and their corresponding lithium batteries. The products are specially designed for the reality of Brazilian households, serving both self-consumption and backup power in the event of a grid failure,” Pan told pv magazine Brasil.
The company expects residential storage to keep growing in Brazil over the next two years. According to Pan, rising interest is driven, among other factors, by electricity price volatility and supply instability in certain regions.
The executive identifies the Southeast as the main market today, thanks to its installed base of solar systems and stronger economic conditions. The Center-West is also cited as a growth area for demand, especially given the risk of interruptions during dry periods.
Equipment certification is another point highlighted by the manufacturer. Felicity Solar says its main line of residential hybrid inverters and their corresponding lithium batteries already holds certification from the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (Inmetro).
According to Pan, the company has also adapted its technical documentation, labels and test reports to Brazilian requirements. “Compliance is the first prerequisite for entering the Brazilian market. Our entire main line of residential hybrid inverters and corresponding lithium batteries has already obtained Inmetro certification,” he said.
The manufacturer says it does not intend to sell uncertified products in Brazil.
The regulatory issue is particularly relevant for the residential segment, where, according to the company, battery safety, certification, warranty and technical support are among the main criteria considered by consumers. Backup capacity and system cost also weigh on purchasing decisions.
Alongside its portfolio expansion, Felicity Solar is building a local support operation. The company says it is expanding its technical team in Brazil and building up a stock of spare parts to reduce response times in the event of failures.
According to Pan, “selling energy storage products does not end after delivery, and local support is one of the fundamental pillars of the operation.”
The strategy includes training for distributors and partner installers, who provide on-site customer service. The headquarters technical team remains responsible for remote support.
“Felicity Solar has been continuously improving its local technical team in Brazil and building up a stock of spare parts, avoiding long waits for parts shipped from China in the event of equipment defects,” the director said.
Over the next two to three years, the company plans to expand its local inventory, support team and partnerships with distributors and installers. Felicity Solar considers Brazil one of the key markets for its global residential storage operation.
Pan says the company’s strategy in the country combines equipment sales with adapting products to Brazilian conditions and building out local service.
“The products’ hardware and software are deeply adapted to Brazil’s conditions. We value the real backup-power experience, not just the parameters in the catalogues,” the executive concluded.
