DoGo Power has received the 2026 Top Innovation Award from EUPD Research, the Bonn-based market research and certification body, in recognition of its fully self-developed 4S grid-forming energy storage technology.
The award, which EUPD Research grants to manufacturers that demonstrate sustained progress in driving the energy transition and technical innovation, singles out DoGo Power’s in-house 4S architecture as a benchmark for grid-forming energy storage in the European market.
The award-winning 4S technology is a control and hardware system purpose-built for modern power grids with high shares of renewable generation. Its name reflects the deep integration of four core subsystems:
By simulating the operating characteristics of synchronous generators through algorithms, the system can independently establish grid voltage and frequency references. DoGo Power argues this addresses a central stability challenge created by high-penetration renewable integration, where conventional inverter fleets historically relied on the grid to set those references rather than contributing to them.
On the scheduling side, the platform uses AI-supported multi-source collaborative scheduling algorithms. These enable adaptive optimisation across photovoltaic, storage, diesel and grid operating scenarios, and support cost-efficient grid-tied and off-grid operation. The stated aim is to strengthen grid-support capability while preserving the economic efficiency of system operation.
The award arrives as European grid operators contend with rising volumes of inverter-based renewable generation displacing conventional synchronous plant. Grid-forming capability — the ability of an inverter to actively set voltage and frequency rather than follow the grid — has become a recurring theme in connection codes and procurement criteria across the region.
DoGo Power, which describes itself as a player in the smart grid-forming ESS industry with long-term business layout and cooperation experience in Europe, framed the recognition as validation of its innovation capability rather than a single product milestone.
In its announcement, DoGo Power said it will continue to focus on the smart grid-forming energy storage track, using technological innovation to drive industrial upgrading and working with global partners to advance the low-carbon transition of the energy mix. The company restated its corporate mission of “Lighting Up the World.”
DoGo Power is a manufacturer active in the smart grid-forming energy storage systems (ESS) sector, with an established business footprint and cooperation experience in the European market. The company develops grid-forming storage technology integrating EMS, PMS, PCS and BMS subsystems, and positions its products for high-renewable-penetration grid applications.
